This is Vancouver, there are a lot of bike thieves.

Career thieves, opportunist thieves and down on their luck folk that see your pride and joy being a quick $20 to someone coming out of the bar looking to get home…
SOLUTIONS!, yes, we sell locks, many locks, we prefer to sell the ones that we choose to use personally!

We want your bike to be around, be prepared to spend around at least $50 on a quality u-lock or heavy duty chain lock. If the bike has quick release, get rid of it!

It pretty much boils down to making it as annoying, time consuming and frustrating to thwart any would be thieves.

We’ll show you how to best use the lock, even little things like going into the easiest gear on the rear of the bike. (the largest cog and picks up lots of the slack on the chain) This makes it much more of a battle to remove a rear wheel !

I looked up “best bike locks” and this site has some reviews of really skookum locks. Some of which you folks probably carry. A couple of them are quite innovative. http://gearpatrol.com/2013/08/15/10-best-bike-locks/
